Vision, Purpose, Core Values
Our Purpose Statement
Living for God,
Loving one another,
Leading others to Jesus Christ
Our Vision Statement
The vision of Newlife Presbyterian Church is to develop
healthy, growing Christian communities in the Brisbane-Ipswich region that,
by the grace of God, evangelise, disciple, serve, nurture and equip people for ministry,
all within the context of enriching relationships.
Our Core Values
We believe in God the Father, Jesus Christ the head of the church and the Holy Spirit who encourages the body of Christ
We believe the Word of God (the Bible) is our complete and final authority.
We believe in culturally relevant corporate worship that, in the context of the church family, retells the gospel (that God is the creator, that we are sinful, that Jesus Christ was sacrificed for our sins and that we are to respond gratefully to God's grace and mercy) and inspires people to be led by the Spirit of Christ
(Inspiring Worship: Eph 5:19, Heb 10:12ff; 1 Thes 5:16-19)
We believe in teaching and training that equips people to share Christ by the acquisition of biblical knowledge, the development of skills and the adoption of godly attitudes.
(Empowering Leadership: Eph 4:12ff)
We believe Jesus gave his life to seek and save the lost and He calls us to do likewise.
(Need Oriented Evangelism: 1 Cor 9:20-22)
We believe that followers of Jesus Christ should manifest passionate spirituality and yearn for full devotion to Jesus Christ and His cause.
(Passionate Spirituality: Rom 12:11-12)
We believe that the church should operate as a unified community of servants, stewarding their spiritual gifts, abilities, skills, time, money and resources within the context of functional structures.
(Functional Structures: Mark 2:27)
We believe that loving relationships should permeate every aspect of church life.
(Loving Relationships: John 13:34-35)
We believe that development of community is greatly facilitated through participation in small groups.
(Holistic Small Groups: Acts: 2:46-47)
We believe that all members should be assisted to identify their spiritual gift(s) and be encouraged to use them.
(Gift Oriented Ministry: 1 Peter 4:10)
